Plasma Electrolytic Polishing Device
Our unique plasma polishing process allows for more efficient surface treatment of almost all metals and alloys.
The basic principle of plasma electrolytic polishing is similar to that of electrolytic polishing, where the workpiece to be polished serves as the anode, and the electrolyte side (nozzle side) acts as the cathode, with voltage applied. In the case of plasma electrolytic polishing, the applied voltage is higher compared to electrolytic polishing (200V-400V, depending on the product), and the electrolyte is a salt-based solution individually designed by the manufacturer according to the material of the product. This solution is environmentally friendly, easy to handle, and recyclable. When voltage is applied, a gas phase is generated around the workpiece to be polished, and plasma is formed in that area, which polishes the surface of the workpiece. Similar to electrolytic polishing, protrusions dissolve, smoothing occurs, burrs can be removed, and it is also possible to achieve a gloss greater than that of electrolytic polishing. Our new product, the "plasmotion plasma electrolytic polishing device," can supply the electrolyte to any position of the workpiece to be polished through a nozzle, enabling selective polishing, as shown in the illustration below. It is also suitable for polishing complex structures manufactured by 3D printers, and plasmotion has a track record of medical parts with a hole diameter of Φ1mm.
